Olympus on Fox3: Run the Battle Live From Your Browser

Every squadron has had this night. The mission is running, everyone is on frequency, and then the plan falls apart. The strike package cleans out the target ten minutes early and nobody has anything left to shoot. Or a flight of four goes down over the beach and the whole thing turns into a quiet flight home. Normally your options are to let it fizzle or to kick everyone out, edit the mission, and restart.

Olympus gives you a third option. Open a browser, look at the live battlefield on a map, and change it while everyone is still flying.

What It Actually Does

Olympus is a live mission control interface for a running DCS server. From a map view in your browser you can spawn units, move them, task them, group them, and remove them. Aircraft, ground units, ships. No mission editor, no restart, no telling twelve people to stand by.

That turns a static mission into something you can steer. Drop a fresh armored column when the first one dies. Put a tanker on station because someone came home lower on gas than planned. Spawn the bandits when your flight is actually ready for the merge instead of when a trigger says so. It is the difference between running a mission and running an exercise.

Three Seats, Not One

Olympus ships with three roles, and Fox3 sets all three up for you.

Game Master sees the whole board, both coalitions, everything. This is the seat for whoever is running the night.

Blue Commander and Red Commander each see and control their own side only. This is where it gets genuinely fun. Hand one to a pilot who is sitting the sortie out and let them run the opposition live. A human commander reacting to what your flight is doing beats scripted AI every single time, and it costs you nothing but a browser tab.

Nothing to Install, for Anyone

This is the part people are usually surprised by. Olympus runs on the server side. Your pilots do not install a mod, do not need a matching version, and do not have to do anything at all. There is no client download to distribute and no support headache when one guy forgets to update.

Whoever is controlling just opens a browser and goes to your server address on port 3001. That is it. It works from a laptop, a second monitor, or a tablet on the desk next to you while you fly.

How Fox3 Sets It Up

We do the whole install. Fox3 puts Olympus on your server, configures it against your ports and your SRS setup, wires it into your server startup so it comes back on its own after every reboot and every DCS update, and hands you a file with your Game Master, Blue Commander and Red Commander logins already set.

You do not touch a config file. About twenty Fox3 servers are already running it.
