Server upgrades (CPU & RAM)

Add extra vCPU cores, RAM, disk, or mods to a dedicated server, at purchase or any time after. Each add-on is its own subscription, charged when you add it and renewing on its own cycle. You can cancel any single add-on or mod on its own without touching your server or your other add-ons, and they're all cancelled automatically if you cancel the server itself.

Looking for a whole bigger server, not just extra parts? Tier upgrades (say Wing Tier → Division Tier) are self-service too: the Upgrade server button on your account dashboardshows every higher tier with exact pricing. You pay only the prorated difference today and the new tier’s price starts on your next billing date. See Upgrading your server tier for the full walkthrough.

Adding upgrades & mods when you buy

On Squadron tier and up you can configure your server right at checkout: the “Customize your server” section lets you tick any combination of hardware upgrades (CPU, RAM, disk) and mods, and the order summary shows a live running total. With card/Apple Pay it’s a single payment; with PayPal you approve the server first, then a quick one-tap approval for each add-on (each is billed separately). You can always add or remove these later from your account — nothing has to be decided up front. Co-Op and Value plans use the simple checkout without the configurator.

What you can add

Each unit of Additional CPU grants +2 vCPU cores, each unit of Additional RAM grants +4 GB of memory, and each unit of Additional Space grants +5 GB of storage. Need more than one unit? Use the quantity selector on the upgrades pageto buy several at once (for example 2× Additional Space = +10 GB) — it’s a single subscription at the combined price. You can also buy more units later; everything stacks on top of your plan’s base specs.

Adding an upgrade reboots that server

Hardware changes on a VM need a restart. When your upgrade is applied we gracefully shut the server down, change the hardware, and start it back up, usually a minute or two. Players connected at that moment will be dropped, so pick a quiet time and warn your group first.

When it takes effect

On Stripe the upgrade applies right after you confirm. On PayPal you first approve the new amount in PayPal, the upgrade applies once that approval comes back. Either way you’ll get a confirmation once your server is back online with the new specs.

Picking which server

An upgrade applies to a single server. If you have more than one, choose the one to upgrade when you add it; if you don’t choose, it goes to your first eligible server.

Shared / co-op plans

Co-Op and Value plans run on shared hardware, so a CPU/RAM add-on on those is billing-only and doesn’t change the underlying machine. CPU/RAM upgrades change real hardware only on dedicated plans (Squadron and above).

Disk space

Extra disk space is handled separately from CPU/RAM. Additional space is added to your Fox3 cloud (Nextcloud) storage; growing a VM’s disk is done manually by our team, so reach out via contact if you need more room on the server itself.

Mods

Mods (for example Olympus, SkyEye GCI, FunkMan, or Real Weather) work the same way as hardware add-ons: pick them in the “Customize your server” section at checkout, or add them later from your account. Each mod is its own subscription billed alongside the server, and the mod’s setup is applied to your server automatically once it’s active.

Removing a single add-on or mod

Remove any one add-on or mod from your account dashboard at any time. It does notaffect your server or your other add-ons; only that one item is cancelled. It stays active until the end of the period you’ve already paid for, then billing ends (and, for a hardware upgrade, your server is resized back down in a brief shutdown-and-restart). We send the team a notification on every removal so your billing total is kept in sync. Cancelling the whole server subscription cancels all of its add-ons and mods along with it.

If a payment is missed

Each upgrade is its own subscription, so it has its own payment. If an upgrade’s payment fails it is cancelled and the resource is removed, while your server keeps running. If the server’ssubscription lapses and is de-provisioned, its upgrades are cancelled automatically along with it.
