Time to Move to the New Fox3: New Website, More RAM, Same Server

If you've been around Fox3 for a while, you may have noticed that we have a new home: Fox3Servers.com.

This isn't just a new coat of paint on the old website. We rebuilt the Fox3 customer and subscription experience to give us a much better platform for managing servers, subscriptions, payments, and all the other things we're continuing to build around Fox3.

At this point, roughly half of our customers are already on the new platform. The other half still have subscriptions running through our legacy Fox3MS.com system.

If you're in that second group, now is a very good time to move over.

Why?

Because we're throwing in a pretty substantial RAM upgrade when you do.

How Do I Know Which Fox3 Site I'm On?

There's an easy way to check.

Log into Fox3Servers.com and look at your subscriptions.

If you're a Fox3 server owner but the new site says you have no active subscriptions, chances are your server is still being billed through the old Fox3MS.com system.

That means you're eligible to move to the new platform.

We're not shutting off the old site tomorrow, so there's no reason to scramble. However, Fox3MS.com is now our legacy subscription platform, and we will eventually retire it permanently.

Everyone still using the old billing system will ultimately need to move. We'd much rather help you make that transition now, one customer at a time, than have everyone trying to eject from the old platform on the same day.

And there's another good reason not to wait.

Moving to the New Site Gets You a Free RAM Upgrade

DCS has changed quite a bit since some of our original Fox3 server tiers were designed.

DCS_Server.exe itself has become more demanding. Newer maps consume more resources. Missions have gotten bigger. Mission designers are using more scripting, more AI units, more complex triggers, mods, and increasingly sophisticated multiplayer environments.

The amount of memory that was perfectly reasonable for a DCS server a few years ago isn't necessarily reasonable today.

So we've increased the minimum RAM included with every Fox3 DCS server tier.

Fox3 Tier Legacy RAM New RAM Increase:

Co-op 8 GB --> 16 GB +8 GB / 100%

Value 10 GB --> 16 GB +6 GB / 60%

Squad 12 GB --> 16 GB+4 GB / 33%

Wing 16 GB --> 20 GB+4 GB / 25%

Yes, you read that first one correctly.

Co-op servers are going from 8 GB to 16 GB. We're doubling the RAM.

Value servers jump from 10 GB to 16 GB, Squad moves from 12 GB to 16 GB, and Wing moves up to 20 GB.

There's no separate RAM upgrade charge associated with moving your subscription. These are simply the new Fox3 server specifications.

More memory means more breathing room for modern DCS maps, larger missions, scripting, AI, mods, and whatever Eagle Dynamics and the mission-building community decide to throw at our servers next.

What Happens to My Existing Server?

This is probably the most important part of this announcement:

Nothing happens to it.

You're not getting a blank server.

You're not reinstalling everything.

You're not rebuilding your missions.

And we're definitely not wiping your server.

When we migrate your subscription, you keep your existing Fox3 server. Your login, configuration, missions, files, and server information stay right where they are.

We're changing the subscription and billing platform underneath it and moving you onto the current Fox3 specifications.

How Does the Migration Work?

Because your existing subscription lives on the old billing platform, there are a couple of steps we need to coordinate.

Open a ticket in the Fox3 Discord and tell us you'd like to migrate your legacy subscription to Fox3Servers.com.

We'll check your account, coordinate cancellation of your old Fox3MS.com subscription, and have you purchase the corresponding current subscription through Fox3Servers.com.

We'll then associate your existing server with the new subscription and apply the new RAM allocation.

That's it.

Your server stays where it is. Your missions stay where they are. You don't lose your configuration or have to start over.

A Quick Word About Legacy Pricing

We also want to be upfront about one thing.

Some of our long-time customers have older or grandfathered subscription prices that are lower than the equivalent plans currently offered at Fox3Servers.com.

When you migrate, you will be purchasing your server at the current Fox3Servers.com price. Your old grandfathered subscription price does not transfer to the new billing system.

In return, you're moving onto the current Fox3 server specifications—including the additional RAM—and onto a website that makes managing your payments and subscriptions considerably easier than our old system.

And eventually, everyone will need to make this move.

Fox3MS.com has served us well, but it's a legacy platform and will ultimately be retired. We're encouraging customers to migrate now so we can make the transition gradually and help everyone individually rather than waiting until the old system reaches end of life.

New Website. More RAM. Same Server.

The short version is pretty simple:

New website.

Better subscription and payment management.

Free RAM upgrade.

Same Fox3 server.

Same missions and files.

Nothing lost.

If you're already on the new system, you're good to go.

If you own a Fox3 server but log into Fox3Servers.com and see no active subscription, open a ticket in the Fox3 Discord and tell us you're ready to migrate.

We'll check everything, coordinate the old subscription cancellation, get you established on the new platform, and apply your upgraded RAM allocation.

There's no reason to wait until the old site heads for the boneyard.
