New for the Fox3 Discord Bot: A Stats Channel for Your Whole Squadron

Inspired by the WET BOYS - Thank you Fridge: Your pilots want to know how they did. Who topped the kill board last night, how many players flew the mission, where they rank in the Foothold campaign. Until now, every Fox3 Discord Bot command lived in one private channel, because that same channel also holds the controls that restart and reboot your server. So the squadron had to ask an admin, or the admin had to paste screenshots.
Starting today, the Fox3 Discord Bot supports a stats channel: a second channel where your members can look up their own stats, while your server controls stay private.
What your members can do in the stats channel
In the stats channel, members can run the stats commands and nothing else:
/f3statsshows the kill and death leaderboard for the current mission./f3statsplayershows one pilot's full breakdown: kills, deaths, crashes, ejections, aircraft and top weapons./f3sessionshows mission uptime, unique players, peak players and who is online right now./f3lastsummaryshows the final leaderboard from the mission that just ended./f3foothold status,/f3foothold pilotsand/f3foothold meshow the Foothold campaign, the pilot rankings and your own rank and points.
Each answer is private to the pilot who asked, so the channel never fills up with bot replies.
Your server controls stay private
Everything that changes your server still works only in your private command channel: restarts, reboots, mission changes, kicks and bans, chat tools and the Foothold auto post setup. A member in the stats channel can look, but cannot touch.
We also made the stats channel hard to get wrong:
Only an admin with the Manage Server permission can turn it on or off, and only from your private command channel.
The bot checks that it can actually post in the channel you pick before it saves anything.
If your Discord has one Fox3 server, members do not need to type a server number. A pilot can simply run
/f3stats.A mistyped command in the stats channel just gets a private reply. Your members can only ever see stats for your own servers.
Turn it on in under a minute
Pick the channel your members will use, for example
#stats, and give the Fox3 bot permission to view the channel, send messages and embed links there. In your private command channel, run
/f3statschannel set channel:#stats.
That is all. Run /f3statschannel status any time to see both channels, or /f3statschannel off to go back to a single private channel.
Built from your feedback
This feature came straight from one of our squadrons, who wanted their pilots to check their own numbers without needing admin access. Many of the best Fox3 features start the same way. If there is something you want your server or your Discord to do, open a ticket in our Discord and tell us.
The stats channel is part of the Fox3 Discord Bot add on and is live now for every Fox3 Discord Bot customer. You can find the full command list on the Fox3 Discord Bot help page. With about 300 servers online, Fox3 Servers is the longest running managed DCS host, and we will keep building the tools your squadron asks for.
