What files can I upload?

Both Tacview formats: the compressed .zip.acmi and the plain .txt.acmi, up to 95 MB as uploaded. Prefer the .zip.acmi — it's what Tacview writes for a cleanly-ended session, and flight telemetry compresses to roughly a third its size, so a recording up to about 250 MB as .txt will usually fit under the cap once zipped.

Why do I have to log in?

Uploads, purchases, and your debriefs are tied to your account, and it keeps the service fair (rate limits apply per account).

My recording is too big — what can I do?

Accepted Answer

The 95 MB cap applies to the file you upload, and it's a hard limit of the network layer in front of the site rather than a policy choice. The first thing to try is the .zip.acmi version — Tacview compresses a finished session to roughly a third its size (flight telemetry is coordinate-dense, so it doesn't shrink as much as ordinary text), which means a .txt recording up to about 250 MB will usually fit under the cap once zipped. If it's still too big: in Tacview use File > Save As on a selected time range to export just the part you want analysed, or upload per session instead of saving up a whole evening. The debrief only covers the callsign you pick, so a shorter, focused recording tends to give a sharper read anyway.

What about the other pilots in my file?

Every output shows only the callsign you selected. All other pilot names are irreversibly anonymized before anything is displayed or stored.

What is the Haighster Rating?

It's your overall score for the session, 0–100. It's named after Haighster, the Fox3 customer who figured out that a Tacview recording could be turned into a real pilot debrief and showed us how — PilotRX exists because of that idea.

How is the Haighster Rating computed?

Accepted Answer

Deterministically from your recording by a versioned formula (shown on every report as formula_version). The written debrief is generated from the same numbers and machine-checked against them — it can't contradict your stats.

Question 9

What happens to my upload?

The raw recording is deleted as soon as your results are computed. Failed jobs are kept encrypted for up to 7 days for support, then deleted. You can delete your data at any time.

Is this an official rating?

Accepted Answer

No. PilotRX is an unofficial training aid based on a single self-uploaded session — not an official record, ranking, or rolling pilot rating.

My debrief didn't generate — what now?

Accepted Answer

Rarely, the written narrative fails our accuracy check. When that happens the unlock simply isn't offered — you keep the full stats page for free, and nothing is charged. If it keeps happening or you have questions, open a ticket on our Discord and we'll take a look — all support runs through Discord tickets.
